4 Restaurant Blogs We Love to Follow

While we may be owners and operators of our own restaurant-heavy blog The Pantry, we still aim to keep up with the latest industry trends, tips, and marketing techniques. We’ve rounded up 4 of our favorite blogs to bookmark and read regularly (along with ours, of course).

Modern Restaurant Management

Nicknamed “MRM,” Modern Restaurant Management describes themselves as “a go-to resource for on-the-go restaurant-industry professionals.” Established in 2016, the blog has already made a big name for itself and is updated on a daily basis. It’s ideal for those new to the business, independent owners, or franchisees.

What we love about the site is its layout, which is broken out into 7 categories: News; Video; Marketing; Operations; Design; Equipment; and Finance & Law. The attention-grabbing headlines and quick videos make it easy to access info. Plus, there’s usually a nice banner advertising the latest restaurant conferences and expos.

The website’s content is curated from industry thought leaders, and they accept guest submissions from experts in the restaurant world. Which is to say, the articles are coming straight from the folks in the field—so you know it’s valuable stuff.

Toast Restaurant Blog

Toast, Inc. is known in the industry for providing restaurant management and point-of-sale (POS) systems, helping restaurants “improve operations, increase sales and create a better guest experience.” But to go with their cutting-edge technology is an equally impressive blog—the Toast Restaurant Blog.

Toast advertises its blog has a “community of 35,000+ restaurant professionals” who regularly turn to the site for news on technology, metrics, menu management, and more. Not only are the articles organized in a clean layout with estimated reading times, they also cover topics that always catch our attention: “Is Your Restaurant Contributing to Gentrification?” and “9 Restaurant Podcasts You Don’t Want to Miss” for starters.

RestaurantNews.com

This one is sort of the non-blog blog. According to the site, RestaurantNews.com is where industry professionals have turned since 1999 to “distribute their restaurant news and help build their brands.” Folks in the field can easily submit their news or franchising opportunities online.

What keeps us coming back to this blog is the variety of content that’s posted on a regular basis. Because it’s restaurant-owner driven, the topics are often very specific—and very interesting. We also love the running list of franchise opportunities that live on the site’s side navigation.

Upserve

Upserve is known for its restaurant management software, including payment processing, POS, online ordering, and more. They also run a pretty amazing blog. At first glance, the site looks like the New York Times: Clean and easily scannable. It’s packed with independent research and interesting insights, but it’s the customer stories we love the most. Plus, at the bottom of the blog homepage you’ll see a menu of categories you can’t help but read through: Company news; Infographics; Industry reports; and more.

So there you have it. Four of the best-loved blogs over here at ARF Financial. We hope you’ll subscribe to a couple of these, and don’t forget The Pantry—we’d love to see you there!
