The SBA Has Released The Official RRF Start DateRestaurant owners across the U.S. have been waiting for this day to come for over a year now, and the wait is finally over. The Small Business Administration (SBA) announced the start date for the highly anticipated Restaurant Relief Fund will be Monday, May 3, 2021 at noon EDT. The online application will remain open to any eligible establishment until all funds are exhausted.

Preregistration Information

Restaurant owners are encouraged to register for an account in advance by visiting restaurants.sba.gov starting Friday, April 30, 2021, at 9 a.m. EDT prior to the official start date on May 3rd. It is also recommended that you prepare for your submission by reviewing the sample application and gathering all required documentation in the next few days while we wait for the program to officially open.

Have questions about what’s required to apply? The SBA will be hosting webinars on April 28th at 1 p.m. EDT and 2:30 p.m. EDT to provide virtual training on this program. It is highly recommended that you carve out some time to attend one of these sessions or sign up to receive the recorded version to review at a later time.

Prioritized Funding

As a reminder, for the first 21 days that the program is open, the SBA will prioritize funding applications from businesses owned and controlled by women, veterans, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. However, all eligible applicants can, and are encouraged, to submit their applications once the portal opens on May 3rd.
