{"id":5575,"date":"2016-12-19T17:59:12","date_gmt":"2016-12-19T17:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.arffinancial.com\/development\/?p=5575"},"modified":"2021-02-24T16:05:49","modified_gmt":"2021-02-24T21:05:49","slug":"shoneys-new-unit-design","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.arffinancial.com\/development\/shoneys-new-unit-design\/","title":{"rendered":"Shoney&#8217;s Reveals New Unit Design"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shoney\u2019s will next year debut a new restaurant design it plans to later roll out in an effort to modernize the brand and boost its appeal among younger diners.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arffinancial.com\/development\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/shoneys_restaurant.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.arffinancial.com\/development\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/shoneys_restaurant.jpg\" alt=\"shoney's new restaurant design\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5579\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The prototype, to be unveiled at a remodeled restaurant in Donelson, Tenn., will include a full-service bar\u2014somewhat of a departure for Shoney\u2019s, which had just begun adding alcohol to select units in recent years. Communal seating will be a central feature of the new design, Shoney\u2019s said, as will an outdoor patio that can be used through multiple seasons.<\/p>\n<p>In a bid to compete with the growing popularity of on-the-go and take-home concepts, Shoney\u2019s typical buffet will double as a prepared foods \u201cmarket,\u201d where guests can purchase prepared items to go.<\/p>\n<p>The new design was crafted to elevate the customer experience for younger guests while retaining what longtime fans of the brand already enjoy, Shoney\u2019s CEO David Davoudpour said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>All corporate-owned locations will be remodeled with the new look, 144-unit Shoney\u2019s said, while current franchisees will have the option to redesign.<\/p>\n<p>The chain introduced a mall prototype two years ago that featured a full bar as well as an offshoot selling to-go fare.<\/p>\n<p>(Source: RestaurantBusiness.com; by Kelsey Nash)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6633;\">Need some extra capital to begin the redesign?
