A last-minute bill was passed by the Senate to extend the PPP deadline by 5 weeks just hours before the program closed. One day later, the House also approved the bill. This will give businesses more time to plan and assess their standings as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to make its waves of new cases across the U.S. On July 4, 2020 President Trump signed this bill into effect and the official deadline was updated to August 8, 2020.<\/p>\n
This extension is a big step for expanding this program to ensure the remaining $129 billion in funding is still available for the businesses who need it.
