As states start to move into different phases of reopening businesses, it\u2019s important that you as a business owner are following the guidelines set by the state and federal government to ensure your business is compliant and safe. Here is a list of resources available for businesses once they reopen and phase-in to full service again.<\/p>\n

State-by-State Business Reopening Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every state is different when it comes to how they are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic so it\u2019s important that you are following your state\u2019s guidelines. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce<\/a> has created a resource for business owners to locate their state\u2019s guidelines, timelines, and other reopening information. This resource is updated as information comes available.<\/p>\n

Opening Up America Again<\/strong><\/p>\n

President Trump<\/a> released a three-phased plan for how businesses should reopen based on the advice of public health experts. While it is up to each state\u2019s governor to set the guidelines for how they want to use this plan, it is wise for business owners to know this plan as well.<\/p>\n

CDC Guidelines for Cleaning and Disinfecting<\/strong><\/p>\n

When people do start coming into your business, they are going to expect pristine conditions. They want to see you are actively keeping your business clean and that your employees are taking the appropriate measures to ensure they are in a safe environment. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/a> has released reopening guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting public spaces, workplaces, business, schools and homes that you can use to give your customers confidence that your business is clean.<\/p>\n

Families First Coronavirus Response Act<\/strong><\/p>\n

The FFCRA<\/a> requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. To date, the provisions of this act will be in effect through December 31, 2020. If your business meets the staffing and size requirements to be under this act, you will need to make sure you are following the guidelines set to provide paid sick leave and medical coverage to your employees that are affected by COVID-19.<\/p>\n

OSHA\u2019s COVID-19 Guidance for Retail Workers <\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are in the retail industry, OSHA<\/a> has created a list of tips for your restaurant to follow to reduce your workers\u2019 risk of exposure.<\/p>\n
