Here, we\u2019ll fill you in on this innovative piece of equipment, the regulations surrounding its use, and why it might just be the next best thing for your business\u2019s bottom line.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Regulations for Federal Agencies<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Federal laws and requirements mandate that federal agencies purchase ENERGY STAR-qualified commercial fryers or Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP)-designated fryers unless you are specifically exempted by law. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.gov\/eere\/femp\/purchasing-energy-efficient-commercial-fryers\">Energy.gov<\/a>, these \u201crequirements apply to commercial standard and large vat, open deep-fat fryers. Pressure specialty, and fryers less than 12 inches wide or greater than 24 inches wide are excluded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You can take a look at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energystar.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/specs\/private\/Commercial_Fryers_Program_Requirements.pdf\">efficiency levels and product specification information<\/a> on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ENERGY STAR website, and see a list of ENERGY STAR-qualified commercial fryers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energystar.gov\/productfinder\/product\/certified-commercial-fryers\/results\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So, what exactly is \u201cenergy efficient,\u201d then? Energy.gov defines a cost-effective product as one whose \u201clifetime energy savings (from avoided energy costs over the life of the product, discounted to present value) exceed the additional up-front cost (if any) compared to a less efficient option.\u201d Interested to know just how much you could be saving?
